The Paris Council will debate between 8 and 11 July the question of making Paris a test territory where smoking recreational cannabis would be legal.
Imagine the scene: sitting on the banks of the Canal Saint-Martin, a joint in hand, without worrying about the authorities. That may be what will happen soon. The Paris Council is preparing to debate, from 8 to 11 July, the possibility of "to make Paris an experimental territory for the legalization of recreational cannabis for adults while ensuring strict supervision".
This is a new episode in the series of march towards the legalization of cannabis after a month of June during which a tribune signed by more than 70 personalities published by The Obs and a report from economists close to the prime minister were moving in that direction.

Defenders of this idea recall that France is the country of the European Union that consumes the most cannabis, despite more permissive laws in other member countries. Laurence Goldgrab, president of the Radical Left Center and Independent Group (RGCI) behind the proposal, says in The Parisian than "when we look at what is happening to our neighbors, we see that with regulated legislation, there is an increase in regular consumers but a decrease in consumption among young people when the prohibition of sale to minors is respected and it is accompanied by a decrease in crime ". According to her, "This experimentation would help fight organized crime more effectively and better protect minors".
This proposal, if validated by the Paris Council, will then have to be presented to the government, without whom nothing can be realized.
Here’s what you want to know before visiting your local medical dispensary:You may need a physician’s recommendation, medical cannabis certificate, and/or whatever appropriate documentation is needed by your state. Ordinarily, you need to be 18 or older to be eligible for a medical consent, but exceptions may be made in some states for minors with particularly debilitating problems. You will often enroll with a medicinal dispensary. This is to maintain your medical cannabis recommendation or certificate on file for legal and regulatory purposes. There’ll be a waiting room. This is to control the flow of patients and product, but a straightforward dividing wall gives patients privacy and direct one-on-one contact with a budtender to candidly discuss medical issues. Many times, but not necessarily, your purchases will be monitored by medical dispensaries. This procedure can help budtenders and patients monitor effective medicine in addition to possess a living record of manufacturers and goods for future reference and follow up. Medicinal dispensaries usually permit you to smell and analyze the buds prior to purchase. This may differ from state-to-state.
